“Walking in Righteousness”

What does “Righteousness” mean?

Look at Deuteronomy 6:17-18, 24-25:
You are to diligently (very carefully) keep (obey) the commandments of the LORD your God and the testimonies and statutes He has given you.

Do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that it may be well with you and that you may enter and possess the good land that the LORD your God swore to give your fathers,

The LORD commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the LORD our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today.

And if we are careful to obey all this law before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us that will be our righteousness.”

Do what is right and good in the eyes of the Lord through your obedience to His commands completely in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The word righteous means “to be in right standing with God“, and to be in right standing with God you must be obedient.

Remember, you are created in the image of God without any error!
You were sinners, but you surrendered yourselves to the Righteous One through His atoning sacrifice for your sins! Your sins were completely forgiven!
You are righteous one for the Lord Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

1 John 2:1-2:
1.My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

2.He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Amen!

The Lord wants you to keep walking in righteousness that His Laws (His commands) are perfect!

Mark 2:17:
On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
So the healthy don’t need a doctor, but the sick.

The Lord Himself does not come to call the righteous, but sinners.

You don’t need a doctor anymore because you are in the eternal kingdom of God where the Father’s throne is so Holy and Perfect!
(I must remind you there is not any hospital in the kingdom of God!)

The sick means sinner. But the sick is not a rebellious one!
The sinner is like walking dead!

Many Christians loved and believed in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, but don’t have time to walk in righteousness because they don’t obey His commands.

Romans 10:3
Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.
