Children of Promise Or Rebellious Children
Children of Promise
or Rebellious Children
• The Children of Promise is the one who walks in power of the Spirit.
The Children of Rebellious Children is the one who are disobedient and they rely on their own strength to obey God which is impossible for them to obey God.•
Romans 9:1-26
[1]With Christ as my witness, I speak with utter truthfulness. My conscience and the Holy Spirit confirm it.
[2]My heart is filled with bitter sorrow and unending grief
[3]for my people, my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would be willing to be forever cursed—cut off from Christ!—if that would save them.
[4]They are the people of Israel, chosen to be God’s adopted children. God revealed his glory to them. He made covenants with them and gave them his law. He gave them the privilege of worshiping him and receiving his wonderful promises.
[5]Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are their ancestors, and Christ himself was an Israelite as far as his human nature is concerned. And he is God, the one who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
[6]Well then, has God failed to fulfill his promise to Israel? No, for not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God’s people!
[7]Being descendants of Abraham doesn’t make them truly Abraham’s children. For the Scriptures say, “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted,” though Abraham had other children, too.
[8]This means that Abraham’s physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. Only the children of the promise are considered to be Abraham’s children.
[9]For God had promised, “I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
[10]This son was our ancestor Isaac. When he married Rebekah, she gave birth to twins.
[11]But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God. (This message shows that God chooses people according to his own purposes;
[12]he calls people, but not according to their good or bad works.) She was told, “Your older son will serve your younger son.”
[13]In the words of the Scriptures, “I loved Jacob, but I rejected Esau.”
[14]Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not!
[15]For God said to Moses,
“I will show mercy to anyone I choose,
and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.”
[16]So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.
[17]For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.”
[18]So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen.
[19]Well then, you might say, “Why does God blame people for not responding? Haven’t they simply done what he makes them do?”
[20]No, don’t say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, “Why have you made me like this?”
[21]When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn’t he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into?
[22]In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction.
[23]He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory.
[24]And we are among those whom he selected, both from the Jews and from the Gentiles.
[25]Concerning the Gentiles, God says in the prophecy of Hosea,
“Those who were not my people,
I will now call my people.
And I will love those
whom I did not love before.”
[26]And,
“Then, at the place where they were told,
‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called
‘children of the living God.’”
You see how God is patient and fair, that we are not justified by our works and goodness, that we cannot boast that God has chosen us his people not because we are worthy, we didnt choose God, God choose us, and show us his salvation and path towards him,
But what happen to those people who once known him and accepted him but choose to disobey God, there will be consequences for them unless they repent.
Rebellious Children
Numbers 14:1-12
[1]Then the whole community began weeping aloud, and they cried all night.
[2]Their voices rose in a great chorus of protest against Moses and Aaron. “If only we had died in Egypt, or even here in the wilderness!” they complained.
[3]“Why is the lord taking us to this country only to have us die in battle? Our wives and our little ones will be carried off as plunder! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return to Egypt?”
[4]Then they plotted among themselves, “Let’s choose a new leader and go back to Egypt!”
[5]Then Moses and Aaron fell face down on the ground before the whole community of Israel.
[6]Two of the men who had explored the land, Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, tore their clothing.
[7]They said to all the people of Israel, “The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land!
[8]And if the lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey.
[9]Do not rebel against the lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”
[10]But the whole community began to talk about stoning Joshua and Caleb. Then the glorious presence of the lord appeared to all the Israelites at the Tabernacle.
[11]And the lord said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? Will they never believe me, even after all the miraculous signs I have done among them?
[12]I will disown them and destroy them with a plague. Then I will make you into a nation greater and mightier than they are!”
Their disobedience and Unbelief prevented them to Receive Gods blessing and Promise which resulted they were not allowed to enter the promise land.
But what happen to those people who once known him and accepted him but choose to disobey God, there will be consequences for them unless they repent.

Numbers 14:30
[30]You will not enter and occupy the land I swore to give you. The only exceptions will be Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
The Israelites are punished
Numbers 14:26-43
[26]Then the lord said to Moses and Aaron,
[27]“How long must I put up with this wicked community and its complaints about me? Yes, I have heard the complaints the Israelites are making against me.
[28]Now tell them this: ‘As surely as I live, declares the lord, I will do to you the very things I heard you say.
[29]You will all drop dead in this wilderness! Because you complained against me, every one of you who is twenty years old or older and was included in the registration will die.
[30]You will not enter and occupy the land I swore to give you. The only exceptions will be Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
[31]“‘You said your children would be carried off as plunder. Well, I will bring them safely into the land, and they will enjoy what you have despised.
[32]But as for you, you will drop dead in this wilderness.
[33]And your children will be like shepherds, wandering in the wilderness for forty years. In this way, they will pay for your faithlessness, until the last of you lies dead in the wilderness.
[34]“‘Because your men explored the land for forty days, you must wander in the wilderness for forty years—a year for each day, suffering the consequences of your sins. Then you will discover what it is like to have me for an enemy.’
[35]I, the lord, have spoken! I will certainly do these things to every member of the community who has conspired against me. They will be destroyed here in this wilderness, and here they will die!”
[36]The ten men Moses had sent to explore the land—the ones who incited rebellion against the lord with their bad report—
[37]were struck dead with a plague before the lord.
[38]Of the twelve who had explored the land, only Joshua and Caleb remained alive.
[39]When Moses reported the lord’s words to all the Israelites, the people were filled with grief.
[40]Then they got up early the next morning and went to the top of the range of hills. “Let’s go,” they said. “We realize that we have sinned, but now we are ready to enter the land the lord has promised us.”
[41]But Moses said, “Why are you now disobeying the lord’s orders to return to the wilderness? It won’t work.
[42]Do not go up into the land now. You will only be crushed by your enemies because the lord is not with you.
[43]When you face the Amalekites and Canaanites in battle, you will be slaughtered. The lord will abandon you because you have abandoned the lord.”
You see how important that we walk in obedience to Gods path, Its their Faithlessness, Unbelief, rebellious attitude, No fear of God, and hard heartedness insisting their plans than Gods Plans that Disqualifies them from entering the promise land.
Joshua 5:6
[6]The Israelites had traveled in the wilderness for forty years until all the men who were old enough to fight in battle when they left Egypt had died. For they had disobeyed the lord, and the lord vowed he would not let them enter the land he had sworn to give us—a land flowing with milk and honey.
God always keeps his Promise, He has power to make them, And he has power to fulfill them, But some doubt this fact.
Who are then the Children of Promise??
Genesis 22:1-18
[1]Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith. “Abraham!” God called.“Yes,” he replied. “Here I am.”
[2]“Take your son, your only son—yes, Isaac, whom you love so much—and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.”
[3]The next morning Abraham got up early. He saddled his donkey and took two of his servants with him, along with his son, Isaac. Then he chopped wood for a fire for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had told him about.
[4]On the third day of their journey, Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
[5]“Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”
[6]So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together,
[7]Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?”“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.“We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?”
[8]“God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together.
[9]When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood.
[10]And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice.
[11]At that moment the angel of the lord called to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”“Yes,” Abraham replied. “Here I am!”
[12]“Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said. “Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”
[13]Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. So he took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering in place of his son.
[14]Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means “the lord will provide”). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: “On the mountain of the lord it will be provided.”
[15]Then the angel of the lord called again to Abraham from heaven.
[16]“This is what the lord says: Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that
[17]I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies.
[18]And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”
Through Obedience to Gods Plan Abraham and his descendants were blessed and he is called Friend of God.
James 2:21-24
[21]Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
[22]You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.
[23]And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.
[24]So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
[14]Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
[15]What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?
[16]And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:
“I will live in them
and walk among them.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
[17]Therefore, come out from among unbelievers,
and separate yourselves from them, says the lord.
Don’t touch their filthy things,
and I will welcome you.
[18]And I will be your Father,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the lord Almighty.”
Exodus 19:5
[5]Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.
Galatians 4:28
[28]And you, dear brothers and sisters, are children of the promise, just like Isaac.
Hebrews 10:35-39
[35]So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!
[36]Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.
[37]“For in just a little while,
the Coming One will come and not delay.
[38]And my righteous ones will live by faith.
But I will take no pleasure in anyone who turns away.”
[39]But we are not like those who turn away from God to their own destruction. We are the faithful ones, whose souls will be saved.
End.

Bros and sis,I am now going to sleep,Thank You Bro mark for wonderful teaching which is a Food For Our Spirit. Thank you again and I Enjoy the teaching even when I feel sleepy
The Presence of the Lord is so powerful, he was with us today Hallelujah ππ
https://youtube.com/watch?v=YfWMMoOHj6c&feature=share
The Word of the Lord truly penetrates deep within me, that I don't want the Holy Spirit to just go through me but lives in me to crucified my flesh so that the Lord can resurrect upon my daily life, How we are blessed that the Lord adopt us to be His royal priesthood and we should be cautious in everything we do, to hold firm in our walk with the Lord in our daily lives, the meat of the Lord truly satisfy me tonight that we should not just be a hearer of the word but also doer, how blessed to be a children of God to inherit His promise, we should not waste it and be lead by flesh for how painful the consequences to be far from Him for being a rebellious one, The Lord did not leave you, but it us who abandon Him truly its not our way but its Yahweh (Yah-way), The Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom
And truly as I've shared earlier that being a Children of Promise understood the identity and responsibilities of those who inherited royal position that there will be a great test but still rejoice for we knew we had a better and lasting possessions and lastly we should be like a man who build and laid in the foundation of rock and not on ground w/out foundation,
Luke 6:46-49
¶“46Jesus said, "Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' yet fail to do what I tell you? 47Everyone who comes to me; and hears my words; and does them —let me show you what he is like.
48He is like a man who built a house. He dug deep, and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the torrent broke against that house but could not shake it, because it had been well built.
49On the other hand, the one who hears my words, and does not do them, is like a man who built a house on the ground without foundation. When the torrent broke against it, the house fell down at once, and great was its ruin."” (Luke 6:46-49).
Praise Jesus for your life brother mark may the Lord release more anointing upon your lifeπ€π
Amen Wonderful testimony and explanation sis about the one who build his house on immovable rock.
To God be the Glory
Thank God for using This Broken Vessel
Thank you brother Mark for that spiritual food tonight that strucks me like a sword. This teaching served as a trumpet that wakes all of us that no matter what circumstance happens into our lives, going away in God's presence is still the worst decision in our lives.
This came into my mind:
OBEDIENCE is the fruit of FAITH
FAITH is the fruit of SURRENDER
SURRENDER is the fruit of HUMBLENESS
And the opposite of HUMBLENESS is PRIDE which is the cause of all DISOBEDIENCE. Pride causes us to make disobedience because we think we are better than God. Pride causes us to start choosing our own path instead of God's path. Pride causes us to rely on our own strength and understanding. And worse, pride makes us blaspheme the Holy Spirit and harden our hearts.
I realized this is the test of how much should we humble ourselves and still see God's path as better than our own paths:
We need to know that God knows better than us.
He knows us more than we know ourselves.
We need to know that He is an Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnibenevolent and a very good God in where He desires all the good for us and that He has the power to fulfill His will perfectly.
Because even if we think everything seems falling in God's path
We need to know that our own path will be much more terrible
We need to know that our own path has much more sufferings than God's path.
Pride tells us that we will have our decisions better than God
Pride belittles God's might of keeping His promises
This is the deception of pride, we think we have better ways than God but in the end, it will always be proven that our ways will always be the worse and that God's ways are the best.
In God's path, there might be a storm, but in the end, there will be a rainbow.
In our own path, there might be temporary peace but destruction will be the end of our path.
Even if we chose to leave God, we will see how precious He is in the darkness in where our lives are full of Hell.
Once again thank you brother Mark for that eye-opening teaching! May you continually be blessed by our beloved Shepherd.
Wow brothers and sisters I saw a rhema, it was posted after teaching of brother Mark. It is somehow related to the teaching last night in where we should trust the Lord.
