Importance of Speaking in Tongues

When we have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit the Lord had also given us a heavenly language that that are enabled to communicate to the Father through our Spirit. 

Romans 8:26-27

[26]And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

[27]And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

Because in the human nature we tend to ask God those things that's are benefitable to us or we tend to pray out of our selfish motives, But the Spirit knows what to pray in accordance to Gods will. 

Prayer in Tongues Produces Power

1 Corinthians 14:2

[2]For if you have the ability to speak in tongues, you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit, but it will all be mysterious.

This is the difference of Carnal Christianity and Spirit filled, Power in prayers.

Acts of the Apostles 1:8

[8]But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Have you experience that whenever you are urged by the Spirit to testify or to bear witness to others he will lead you first into prayers and he will strengthen your inner spirit to talk to a person and share to him about the Lord Jesus or use you to pray for his or her healing. 

It's by prayer in Tongues we are tapping to Gods mercy to touch other people.

Acts of the Apostles 5:31-32

[31]Then God put him in the place of honor at his right hand as Prince and Savior. He did this so the people of Israel would repent of their sins and be forgiven.

[32]We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.”

John 15:26-27

[26]“But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.

[27]And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry.

Holy Spirit will Give us Inner Strength

Mark 16:17-18

[17]These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.

[18]They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

Ephesians 3:16-17

[16]I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

[17]Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

1 Corinthians 14:4

[4]A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally, but one who speaks a word of prophecy strengthens the entire church.

Jude 1:20-21

[20]But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,

[21]and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.

This comes through prayer in spirit or prayer in Tongues. 

But most of all Love must be present in our Lives. 

1 Corinthians 13:8-10

[8]Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!

[9]Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!

[10]But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.
